As the “Serial Entrepreneur” Founder of Macro Group of Companies” and “SME rights activists”, Mr. Chandrakant Salunkhe has founded “SME Chamber of India” in 1993 to integrate, empower and educate SMEs for better business growth & impart knowledge related various Business support services, government Schemes, Policies, incentives, advantages, financial products, international trade and other benefits. Mr. Salunkhe has been always on the forefront for policy change & policy implementation to secure the interest of SME sector, regularly interacting with Prime Ministers, ministers, government officials and Heads of regulatory authorities, financial Institutions & corporate to resolves issues of SME sector, advocacy for new policies & schemes and strengthening SMEs for global competitiveness as well as to give a priority to SME sector in Ease of doing Business in India. He has taken lead to set up “SME Stock Exchange”, TReDS – Electronic platform for Trade Receivables, National Skill Development Corporation, Change of Definition of SMEs in 2002 & 2020, exclusive SME divisions in Indian embassies in various countries, Start-up India platform and enhancement of limit of collateral free financial facility for SMEs.

Under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Salunkhe, SME Chamber of India has been putting efforts for Business growth, strengthening & transformation SMEs for business expansion & diversification, channelising finance & investment, identify emerging business opportunities, joint venture, technology transfer, contract manufacturing, merger & acquisitions, import facilitation, commercialization of inventions & innovations, imparting knowledge & education, Government Services, setting up new manufacturing industries, guidance for marketing, promotion, franchise and distributorship and various initiatives & policies for revival of sick SME & manufacturing units. He has taken keen interest to organise regularly various National & International level trade promotional activities, events, conferences, Seminars, Webinars, round table discussions, study visits and led many delegations to visit various countries to establish business cooperation & explore various emerging business opportunities.

Mr. Salunkhe has founded the various organisations & brands such as: Federation of Indian SME Associations, India International Trade Centre, World SME Trade Centre; Maharashtra Industrial and Economic Development Association (MIEDA), SME Export Promotion Council, SME Business Management Institute, SME Investment Promotion Council, Packaging Industry Association of India (PIAI), Start-Ups Council of India, SME Technology Development Council, Marathi Chamber of Business and Industries, SME Business Forum, Women Entrepreneurs Development Council, SME Insurance Promotion Council and International Business Forum of India for US, Canada, Europe, Japan, GCC, UK, China, Africa, Germany, South Korea, Brazil, Poland, Italy, Romania and Bulgaria.

Mr. Salunkhe has been addressing various events & presenting various issues of SMEs and suggestions to government authorities, RBI, Regulatory bodies, FIs, Corporates and other stakeholders.
